This is my blog page. It contains stuff..........hopefully it's not shit
He might have been a very nice man, but if I had young kids, I wouldn't be fighting with crocodiles or big fish.Limited sympathy from me, I am afraid. If you play with fire....
I can't say I've actually ever really watched his TV shows, but it is strange when someone who you know [in a vague way] dies prematurely.
is it bad that I've been earworming a certain Gerry Anderson theme tune all day? It's darwinism in action, innit. You roll the dice like that often enough, sooner or later....ST
Bonkers, enthusiastic and a true eccentric. One of a long line of crazy experts (Magnus Pyke, David Bellamy, Heinz Wolf, etc.) to liven up TV.I was sad to hear about it, if I'm honest. My Brother saw his movie and thought it was brilliant.
I was sad too. It was a family passion, handed down from his father and shared with his wife and children. He was actually filming a sequence for his daughter's show when it happened. He wasn't fighting with crocs or big fish; he looked after them and educated people about them. Dangerous? Yes. But then a lot of things are and you can get hit by a bus tomorrow, etc., etc. Bottom line is that he led a life that was fulfilling for him (and his family) and aided conservation efforts. A death like this was to be expected in all likelihood, but it's still a sudden shock.
