Right round like a record, baby

SwissToni has been running a Shuffleathon over at his place, which I'm sure you all know about, which involved making a CD containing 12 of your favourite tracks and then sending it out to another participant randomly drawn out of ST's metaphorical hat. In was sent an email informing me that I was to send my CD out to Tina from Your mind and we, and you can see her review of it here.

The idea was to create your CD before you knew who was going to get it, and thus it would be completely uninfluenced, meaning it would be your own favourites on the CD. It was very hard to limit myself to 12 songs, and many other favourites had to be chopped off, but I wanted to capture the... the sights, the sounds... the smells of a hard-working rock band, on the road. And I got that; I got more... a lot more. But hey, enough of my yakkin'; whaddaya say? Let's boogie!

my metaphorical hat was, in fact, the brown paper bag that had contained my lunch. I wasn't going to do anything like that, but I could see the names through the pieces of paper I was using as I hadn't folded them up enough, so I needed to improvise to avoid unduly influencing the outcome.

And I bet you think I just paired names off at random, huh?

I liked the sound of your CD mate, to be honest.... and it seems to have gone down reasonably well (and you can't take the G'n'R thing as a snub can you?)

...oh, prior to containing the slips of paper with the names on, the brown paper bag had contained a ciabatta filled with chorizo, cheddar and green salad.

Damn.

That was a good lunch.

I knew 7 out of the 12 songs you chose and liked all of them.

Hey Adem, it's a great CD, I just have an irrational hatred of all things heavy metal - because I am, at heart, an aging hippy. Am waiting with bated breath for my CD to be reviewed.

I've been reading in the newspaper about Axl Rose biting a policeman's leg - doesn't sound like my sort of chap at all!!

I liked the look of your CD too. I expect you could 'see your face in both sides'...
