Me again.

Well I had fun in Prague. What a fantastic place, good beer, and extremely friendly women.
I went with soem friends from Ramsgate and traveled with Eujet for £26.80 return, and stayed in a hostel for £7.50 a night.....bonus!
Well there was a lot of culture, a lot of beer, and a lot of boobies! There were actually so many that I was boobieboggled and imagined I was seeing them everywhere!
Well thats enough of that but I'd recommend Prague to anyone. If you want to go with a partner and see the culture then you can do that and if you want to go with the lads and get pissed then it's just as easy to do that.

I brought some absinthe back and last monday 10th I went out and drank wine, lager, vodka, and absinthe. There are soem memories missing but I think the outstanding effort on my part was to get a cab from a local pub/club to somewhere further away from home and then walk back and twist my ankle and bugger the ligaments in it so that I have trouble walking and will not be able to run for a good few weeks!!! Brilliant.

that's all for now

peace out and word to your mother.

Happy New zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Well there you go. Au revoir 2004. Bonjour 2005.

It doesn't feel any different does it? Except we're one year closer to getting fucked. It's a scary world out there and things like this Tseunami shit that's going on can only cast doubt on the future. I can't even comprehend it.

How did we cope? We dranks ourselves silly at New year to forget. How lucky we are that we can do that. Why not do something good for a change and donate to the Disasters Emergency Committee which is an umbrella group of UK charities including, among others, British Red Cross, Cafod, Oxfam, Save the Children, Tearfund.
It's quite heart warming to see the amount that the public has donated (I even gave £10 myself, what's that really? 4 pints?) but I do wonder why we don't give more often. It shows we have the money but sometimes can't be bothered. Click here for an interesting article on how much we give to charity.

New on the playlist.

If anyone actually looks down the righthand side of this page you should see 3 album covers which usually depict what I'm usually listening to.

Magnolia is still on the car stereo....a classic.

The Killers - Hot Fuss is an excellent album and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes good music. They've been bigged-up a lot on Radio 1 and in the trendy media, and usually this means they'll be shit but they are infact very very good. There are no poor filler tracks on Hot Fuss.

Nine Inch Nails make a surprise entry too. I hadn't listened to any of this kind of 'industrial' music before but I was well aware of the name. This is a live album and is fantastic. Trent Reznor provides superb vocals with amazing emotions, hate, and disdain coming from him, and with a band to help out (Reznor usually playing everything himself in the studio) this CD truly rocks. After listening to this I listened to some studio albums but there wasn't the same feel and everything was a little too electronic and clean. I would recommend this to anyone who likes their music slightly more disturbing. Check out the lyrics to 'closer' my favourite song on the album.

Closer

You let me violate you, you let me desecrate you
You let me penetrate you, you let me complicate you
Help me I broke apart my insides, help me Iove got no
Soul to tell
Help me the only thing that works for me, help me get
Away from myself
I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god
You can have my isolation, you can have the hate that
It brings
You can have my absence of faith, you can have my
Everything
Help me tear down my reason, help me its your sex i
Can smell
Help me you make me perfect, help me become somebody
Else
I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god
Through every forest, above the trees
Within my stomach, scraped off my knees
I drink the honey inside your hive
You are the reason I stay alive

Hey again!

Hi there. It's been a while.
I've been a bit busy lately and have neglected the blog a bit. shame on me!
So what's been happening? I did go to Calais for my birthday. I had an excellent time. I went with 11 friends and we started drinking at 10am and I didn't finish till 1 am. It was fun. Also for my birthday I got a gift from my sister and mum of an adventure weekend. Basically it'll be going off to the Brecon Beacons and camping out and living off the land! Brilliant!

I've been playing a bit more football lately for Preston Hellings FC and have scored 3 times this season utilisng my extreme pace on the left wing! I've also been sorting out a website for the team which you will soon be able to find at www.prestonhellings.co.uk.

I've been working hard too and don't seem to have much free time but I'm happy that I'm doing stuff and not wasting my time.

Also I've been on 2 xmas do's already and I've still got 2 more lined-up! I can feel the waistband expanding evermore.

Farewell for now and hopefully It won't be too long till the next post.

Merry Xmas!

Nothing new to say.

Well as the title suggests 'nothing new to say'. I've just been going through the motions. A few things have happened but they're not of the life-changing variety so no need top sit down and have a stiff drink.
I got the new Football Manager Game and have started playing as Cheltenham Town (not a very good team but it's better to learn the game this way instead of just taking charge of Arsenal. I was a bit naughty and downloaded the game as there was a fuck-up when ordering from Play.com. Don't worry, I have ordered an original game anyway because I love those people from SIgames, but even that hasn't come yet, so i'm happy I downloaded it but I'm doing my best against piracy.
I'm off to france for my Birthday. I thought I might as well get pissed in another country instead of at the local but I had a bit of panic as my passport had run out. I sent it off a week ago and it came back yesterday. Well chuffed. Something actually works!

That's all for now. Don't go enjoying yourself too much.

Lazy Arse

I often reflect on the consumer society we live in and where we want everything now, get everything now, and everything is sparkly. I like it that I can get everything in one place (usually TESCO), It saves me all that precious time in the day and it's usually cheap. But what did we do before these huge conglomerates? Did we all starve? No, we went to lots of different shops, each one specialising in something. But now it's all under one roof.
I try and go to these smaller shops, greengrocers and butchers alike, and I have to admit the quality and choice is far superior to that in these 'supermarkets' (what an egotistical way to label one's self), but then I have to get off my arse.....we are all very lazy.
There you go, not much of a post, but I just had to say something.

John Peel Rock In Peace

What a shock. John Peel died today whilst on holiday in Peru.I'm not usually one to get shocked by celebrity deaths (what a terrible reflection on peoples attitudes nowadays) but this one hit me.
I've got to say I wasn't an avid listener to his shows but I've got to give him great respect in that he did a lot for music in the UK. I can remember hearing some very 'different' music in his shows in an eclectic way that only he seemed to manage. He didn't have a 'Radio 1 playlist', something which has dragged the channel into mediocrity, with the listener not being able to distinguish one piece of pop drivel from another.
Not everything he played was to my taste but I did get to hear quite a few good tracks, usually white-labels, which I wouldn't have heard anywhere else. For this fact he deserves praise in that he went against the norm but didn't try to enforce his views on anyone. A good man indeed.

MPs' expense accounts laid bare

Fuck me!!! Check out this from the BBC site

"MPs claim an average of £118,000 each a year from the public purse to cover travel expenses, and to run their offices and second homes."

"They are paid a £57,000 salary and can claim twice as much again for expenses."

"Prime Minister Tony Blair ran up a total expenses bill of £80,836 over the same period, on top of his £178,922-a-year salary."

"The MP with the highest claim in the year to March 2004 was Falkirk MP Eric Joyce, who racked up expenses totalling £140,000."

MPs also get a pension of up to 1/40th of their final salary for each year they pay in - twice as much as many schemes.

I think I need to change my job. Anyway I hope you are all as shocked as I am. Check it out and see what your MP is claiming. Are they worth your vote? Bloody Liars.

An MP can retire on £28,742 a year after 20 years in the Commons. They also receive a pay-off of up to £57,485 if they are defeated at a general election.

Clocks

Wow. I had a really vivid dream last night and it felt really real. I can't remember too much but the overriding thing was clocks, watches, and time. I shared this experience with the other people in the dream, and even though in the dream I thought I was dreaming I had woken up (in the dream) and spoken to the other people and they had had the same experience/dream in my dream in the dream....geddit? Well I'm sure there must be some kind of psychological reasoning behind this dream, something about fearing my own mortality or something like that, but anyway it was cool to have a dream to wake up and analyse. Oh there was also a dog there who experienced the dream in my dream...how to I know?....because he spoke to me!

I'm a fucking mentalist!!

Answers on a postcard please if you can answer my dream.

P.S. At the end I found a broken pocket watch in pieces. I picked it up and put it together. Hmmm I'm off to sleep to have a chat to Sigmund about that....and the dog!?

Can we just talk?

I've only just noticed but I'm getting mentally lazy. Have you seen how many pictures I've got on my blog? there's shitloads. Now if you have a quick peek at my profile, before I started this new entry I'd written 5,062 words....not that bad....but that was in 67 posts.....equalling an average of just over 75 words per post! I could get more insightful reading matter from the ingredients on the back of a Mars bar.
Also, another moan, when did ademblog get so fucking boring? It seems to just be "I did this, I did that" blah blah blah etc etc. I think (?) I had a few good posts in the early days but now it just seems to be my 'bragging bitch'. I need to start actually thinking about what I'm writing and maybe actually put some stuff on that people may actually want to read. It's all about opinions, thoughts, and having a transfer of ideas. That's what I've had to relearn from looking at other peoples blogs. We bloggers are exhibitionists and voyeurs, not in the sexual tabloid sense but we like to share what's going on in our minds and also compare ourselves with what other people actually think, and the blog is a refreshingly true place where people don't seem to mind that what they write about is ofter quite personal, they actually get somekind of therepy, not from talking to a psychiatrist but instead to their keyboard and monitor.
I can honestly say that it's doing me some good just typing away, not worrying and just letting my fingers do the talking.

Youngs Brewery Trip

The phrase of organising a piss-up in a brewery is commonly used in everyday life but who of us have actually done just that? Well I can stand-up, raise my hand and be counted.
Actually this is the second brewery trip I've been on, but my first to the Youngs Brewery in Wandsworth, the last one being to Shepherd Neame.
We left at 9:30 in the morn, and got back to Ramsgate about the 11 hours later, and slightly more pissed, so we proved that it was easy to get pissed in a brewery...very easy. The wonders of beer.....I was very happy.

Back to Skool

Well after the events of last week you'd think I'd be taking a rest but no, along comes the Freshers' Ball in Canterbury with a 'Back to Skool' theme. I wasn't sure about going but then I thought of 500 odd lasses in school uniform and it swung it for me. Ben, Gay Tom, and petit Tom, came along too, but only for the experience, I'm sure they didn't think twice about the school girlies with there little skirts..... and pigtails......and.....sorry I got lost in a moment there.
The Headliners were Phats and Small, and Mousse T, all I can say is 'wow'.

Magnolia

So the fickle hand of me swipes some up-and-coming band from 'the big blog' playlist. The Thrills have dropped out and have been replaced by the Magnolia soundtrack from Aimee Mann. It's a brilliant film from 1999 and these songs are fantastic with some great lyrics. If you haven't seen the film then WATCH IT!

"Things fall down. People look up. And when it rains, it pours."

the playlist

Take a look at the right-hand column just after archives and you can check out what I have been mostly listening to this week (a la fastshow), at the moment it's the Thrills, Prodigy, and also Roni Size. If you click on the pics it'll take you to the relevant page on Play.com where you can buy these albums if you haven't already got them. Please do not feel the need to buy them just so you can be popular like me and hang out with the cool kids. just be yourself and don't do drugs, it's the law!

Only two things in life are certain......

Here's a quick link to remind you that as you're sat at your PC reading this, your life has just become a little shorter. Check out 'The Death Clock!'

I've got a new job!!!!

Yep it's true, I've got two jobs now. If you didn't know I started working at my local pub 3 weeks ago, a nice place, and when I'm working there it means I'm not spending money there. It's a win-win situation.
Now back to the good news. Jonny spotted an advert in the gazette and thought it might tickle my fancy, Students' Union Campus Co-ordinator (Thanet). I emailed my application on the Thursday, got a phonecall on the Monday saying I'd got an interview, I went for an interview on the Friday and then they rang me back later in the afternoon saying the Job was mine!!!! Happy days.
I start on Monday and we'll see how it all goes from there. It'll be nice to get back into the Students' Union environment and if you wanna know what the job actually entails then read below.

SU Campus Co-ordinator

This newly created post is intended to develop and co-ordinate the activities of the Students’ Union at the Thanet Campus, in accordance with the decisions and leadership of the Campus Committee. The Campus Co-ordinator will work closely with Union staff based in Canterbury, and will be line-managed by the General Manager. The post holder will also work alongside CCCUC staff to expand the possibilities for student involvement in areas such as sports, societies and entertainment. The post holder will provide advice and support to the elected Campus Committee, as well as general administrative and clerical support. The post will be based at the Thanet campus although it is envisaged that some time will be spent at the Canterbury Campus.

Friday night and the lights are low.........

Well actually it's Saturday morning, but I was out last night and it was dark. Me and the guys went out in Canterbury last night as it was Jon from footballs kind-of last going out night in Kent as he's moving to Dorset next week. The night started in 'spoons and ended up in a club that used to be Churchills. Memories of drinking jugs of Vodka Redbull Come back to me and also a £40 cab fare back home!

It was fun.

Crap Towns

The web is full of rubbish. It's a fact. But every so often whilst trawling through the eternal tide of crap you find something very special. It's still crap but the name of this site is 'Crap Towns'.
Basically these two guys are trying to make a map of how crap the UK is. They do this with the help of emails sent in by people who think their towns are crap. The refreshing things about the postings are the pure hatred for their abodes, and the acid tongues they use, although most of the observations are true. Read on...

--------------------
Town/Village: Bognor Regis submitted by Peter McCrum

Even the name is vaguely onomatopoeic and sounds somehow indecent. And indeed it is. What is it about these Victorian seaside towns that is so utterly vulgar and depressing? Is it the fact that they all look exactly the same, with their long-faded grandeur, endless fish and chip shops and gaudy amusement arcades desperate to tempt suckers inside with 'Niagara Falls' of 2p pieces, dementia inducing electronic cacophony and epileptic neon?

I suppose Bognor is just representative of all these generic seaside towns that drape themselves along our coastline, like over made-up knackered old tarts soliciting for trade. In the summer the place stinks of chip fat. In winter it's almost deserted and smells of death.

This is part of Britain's 'Skeleton Coast'. People from all over the British Isles retreat south in their twilight years towards the sea, in some bizarre reversal of evolution, to die. After Ford XRI's, the most common car seen about town is the hearse. Droops of grannies can be seen stopping to watch them pass, and with knowing nods they point and speculate who might be inside. The dual role of this town as both a holiday 'resort' and gods' waiting room always struck me as somehow inappropriate.

Kids in cheap sportswear perch like feral pigeons on the railings lining the prom, with their backs to the sea, spitting oysters of phlegm in front of the feet of passing pedestrians. Beneath greasy peaks of baseball caps, they suck on badly rolled joints and try to contort their acne-ravaged features into their interpretation of the hard bastard's thousand-yard stare. Their idea of high comedy is to take the piss out of passing groups of mentally handicapped children down from Croydon on a day trip.

Don't even bother looking for something to eat in Bognor that hasn't been battered and deep-fried. Don't go into the pubs - they're all shit, without exception. But most of all, don't go to the pier. Just don't. You will discover new levels of disappointment, higher levels of kitsch and more Neanderthal kids than you could poke an electric cattle prod at, (with the voltage turned all the way up to 'eleven'). Instead, turn your back to the sea and head north, to the South Downs and places like Arundel and Amberley, where you can get a proper pint and decent pub food beneath ancient castles and away from the festering putrid rot that is Bognor Regis.

I'm a mermaid!!

As soon as the soles of my feet touch sand I regress to my chidhood self and out comes the bucket and spade...let the digging commence.
For this artistic number I dug a hole, buried myself, and got Steve and Abby to mould this lovely figure for me.
