. I usually pride myself on actually being able to write a decent sentence devoid of 'txt speak' and do get quite annoyed when people write shite. See below for my rating.
You have an extremely good understanding of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level commonly confused English words, getting at least 75% of each of these three levels' questions correct. This is an exceptional score. Remember, these are commonly confused English words, which means most people don't use them properly. You got an extremely respectable score.
How about......catsbums.com There's got to be some freaks out there who'd pay money for that type of stuff.
Well last night it was the provisional regional qualifying rounds for the special olympics and in the 'get pissed and play Donkey Kong Bongo' there was some stiff competition, not surprisingly, provided by the Thanet entrants. The limited genepool has been the main factor behind Thanets' outstanding achievements in previous years but a lot of praise has to go for the entrants themselves and their dedication. Below are just a few pics of last nights event and if you click here you can watch the ladies playing with their bongos.
A couple of my friends are going to see 'The Streets'. Some people rave about him and some people hate him. I myself don't really sway either way, musically speaking. But whilst reading in todays Independant supplement 'Review' I found this little gem. Mike Skinner, the new Ian Dury/Dostoevsky/George Formby/Tommy Cooper (delete where applicable) I wonder if he'll put it on his promotional posters?
Whoa that was a bit freaky. I was just typing away and I had my TV on in the background. Murder She Wrote came on BBC1 and I had to give a little chuckle that I was typing away to the Murder She Wrote theme! Funny.
I was out at the weekend and it seems that after a few alcoholic beverages I get some brilliant ideas and tell myself to "remember that one for the morning, it's a corker, whatever you do don't forget it". Now usually this applies to ideas for making money, but last weekend I'm sure I came up with a brilliant name for a band. I don't play any musical instruments although if someone asks I'll reply that I occasionally play the pink oboe" but I reckon you could have no talent but have a good name and at least someone would listen to you on a whim. One band name that comes immediately is Dogs Die In Hot Cars, They are quite a cool band although I've only heard a few of their songs. Another good one, although slightly disturbing is And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of DeadI can't think of anymore at the moment but if you can then why not put it in the comments of this post. I'm sure none of them will be as good as the one I thought of....and then forgot!
Last night I found a few old photos hidden in a brown envelope. One of them was of me with my flowing locks when I was at the ripe old age of 17 (circa early 1998). I guess quite a few people go through that stage when they're younger and have a go at growing their hair, and it annoyed my mum too. Well now at the ripe old age of 24 I've got my male-pattern baldness down to a tee, some grey hairs, and generally not able to do much with the old mop. So last week I just shaved it all off and I'm quite happy with the results and I've got my bouncer impression down to a tee. Now the root of my problem is too much testosterone. Apparently (according to my extensive research!) I must be genetically programmed for baldness, and so my chemical receptors in the hair follicles covert testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. This chemical causes the follicles to produce thin, downy hair which can't hide my scalp, and hence leaves me with a naked noggin! Apparently the sure fire way to avoid baldness is....wait for it....castration! Well it'd definately stop that pesky testosterone but I kinda like having testicles! Here's another pic I found and it's of me on my 18th birthday (Dec 1998)with my friend Rach. See I had hair then too!
It was Tom's birthday on Wednesday and as a present I thought I'd photoshop him. Now Tom likes his football so I thought I'd stick his head into an iconis footy photo. The results are as follows: It took me about an hour to do and I actually used the lower part of Vinny Jones' Jaw and blended Tom's head on to it with the help of the smudge, sponge, blur, and burn tools with a bit of paintbrush here and there and a few other finishing touches. I'm very happy with it because I didn't just rush it and actually tried to keep improving it. When it's printed on to 6"x4" photopaper it looks much better.
You can now buy a Cray T3E-1200E Supercomputer on Ebay. For those of you who don't know a great deal about computers this is shit-hot. It's a multi processor machine (about 120 in this baby, each at around 600Mhz) and is used for complex scientific calculations. If you're interested the bidding starts at $350,000 which isn't too bad for a machine that cost $3,500,000 in June 1999! Happy bidding.
Hi. For the past few weeks the right indicator on my Megane has been playing up and flashing double time and actually making other lights flash too which is really funny if I want to die. Well I've been putting off fixing them because 1. I'm a bit lazy & 2. I wasn't quite sure what to do. I'd tested all the bulbs and they were fine and then last week a new problem arose where if I had the headlights on and was indicating right the fog light indicator would light up on my dashboard and as soon as I put my foot on the brake the right indicator would stop working! A great trick if you like playing chicken when turning right in the dark. Well I asked my friend Ian what he thought and he said "probably some sort of earthing problem". Cheers. So I went researching on the net and actually found a solution because it seems this has happened to a few megane owners. THE CAUSE Bacause one of the bulbs has lost an earth, when I brake I'm drawing an earth through another bulb to feed the defective light and by doing this it's creating a magnetic field in the second bulb making it light. i.e things be fucked up. THE SOLUTION Open the boot and remove the lighting block and disconnect the connecting block. You should be able to see a bit of blackening on one of the pins where it has overheated. Get a small file and remove the black bits and maybe bend the pins a bit to improve the connection. Do this to both the left and right set of lights and put everything back. Brilliant I can now indicate and brake at the same time!
I've just been into my yahoo geocities account for the first time in years and found a few gems showing some exquiset design features. Whe nI went to uni it was the first time I'd used the internet and so had a bit of fun playing with the web. Check out some of the sites below. I know they are shit but show a naivity of someone who hasn't used the net before. Adem's Blockrockin' Beats Page Of Music Masters The Personal Page of Ademwow!
What's happened with the weather? I had fun yesterday driving to Tunbridge Wells at 6am, and trying to find a small village when all the road signs were covered in snow! Tsk! Well I did take the opportunity to take a few photos. Also because winter has only just arrived in late February I think that it's about 2 months too late so I propose that we should add 2 months to this summer and that should bring the seasons up to date. I'd add the months of....ademelmus and djemilary...on the end of August and this should bring things into line which would mean that now would be december and we'd be happy because in 2 days time it'd be Christmas Day and I love snow on that day! Think about it, you know it makes sense.
I'm sure in previous posts I've mentioned my visit to Prague in January, my love of Photoshop, and also my digital camera. I decided to combine all three and make something and so I got a few of my photos from Prague, dabbled with them in photoshop and came up with something that I'm actually quite proud of. Hey I could even sell them! Anyone interested? Check one of my dabblings below which I've framed. It's from a photo of the astronomical clock in Prague.
Strip club artfully slips by anti-nudity law
BOISE, Idaho (Reuters) - A strip club in Boise, Idaho has found an artful way to prance past a city law that prohibits full nudity.
On what it calls Art Club Nights, the Erotic City strip club charges customers $15 (8 pounds) for a sketch pad, pencil, and a chance to see completely naked women dancers.
In 2001 the Boise City Council passed an ordinance banning total nudity in public unless it had "serious artistic merit" -- an exemption meant to apply to plays, dance performances and art classes.
"We have a lot of people drawing some very good pictures," said Erotic City owner Chris Teague, who has posted many of the drawings around the club.
Teague said he got the idea when a customer asked if he could get in for free to sketch the dancers. Realizing that "art classes" were exempt from the law, Teague decided to bill Mondays and Tuesdays as art nights, and let the dancers go without their G-strings and pasties.
In the two months since they began, Art Club Nights have drawn full crowds of 60 people but no police citations, he said. That's one man who is truely 'living the American Dream'.
I've just signed up to the WCG which is a programme which utilises idle computer time to solve mathematical problems. Basically I usually turn on my desktop PC, go and do something else whilst it's booting up, maybe go on the internet and check my emails and generally surf a bit, and then I may actually do some work on it (usually photoshop and dreamweaver). Now there are large gaps when I'm only using a fraction of my processing power and this is where I can do my bit in helping humanity. I install a small program (I'll spell it this way as they are a US company) and this downloads calculations for my PC to ...um... calculate. Currently the institute is working on the role of proteins in the body -'Human Proteome Folding Project.' Small encrypted files of protein data are sent to my PC when I am on the net, and then I don't need to be on the net for the magic to happen, and when I do get on the net then it sends back the results. Currently there are thousands of users linking into this Grid, and it has been estimated that 4,000 years worth of computer calculations have been done in the last 3 months! People like recognition for when they do something charitable so there is also a ranking system where your run-time and calculations add to your total points. This post may be a little boring to some but may help a few with certain acronyms. I was ordering some cat5 cable with RJ45 connectors for a home network and was looking around to get quite a lot cheaply. I found what I wanted at the ever excellent lindy.com where I managed to get a 30metre cable for £5.22 in their special offers section. Well I stumbled across the terms UTP and FTP. What do they mean? UTP stands for Unshielded Twisted Pair FTP stands for Foil Twisted Pair Twisted pair
A thin-diameter wire (22 to 26 gauge) commonly used for telephone and network cabling. The wires are twisted around each other to minimize interference from other twisted pairs in the cable (Alexander Graham Bell invented this and was awarded a patent for it in 1881). Twisted pairs have less bandwidth than coaxial cable or optical fiber.
UTP, STP, ScTP, FTP Twisted pair cables are available unshielded (UTP) or shielded (STP), with UTP being the most common. STP is used in noisy environments where the shield around each of the wire pairs, plus an overall shield, protects against excessive electromagnetic interference. A variation of STP, known as ScTP for "screened twisted pair" or FTP for "foil twisted pair," uses only the overall shield and provides more protection than UTP, but not as much as STP. Isn't that interesting.
Well every so often I do actually learn new thing from the internet. My new discovery was wiki which I learnt about last week and I only just thought it would be good to share this knowledge (or at least write it down for when I forget what it is.) In layman's terms a wiki is a website that allows users to add content (a bit like a net forum), but where it differs is that it allows the users to also edit any content that is already on the site. In theory it means that everyone can be an editor of a wiki website. An example of this is wikipedia which is an online encyclopedia where users can refine, make corrections, and generally make the entries more accurate. If you want to know more about wiki then why not go to the wiki enclyclopedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki and read about it. Apparently wiki is going to be the next big thing, much in the way blogs are last years big thing. remember you read it here first (maybe?)
Last night 25 of us went to Sittingbourne dogtrack to celebrate Ian's 22nd Birthday....bless him. He did the obligatory drink too much, puke all over yourself number that has become a favourite pursuit of the birthday crowd. On the dog racing front, I got quite into it and was studying their form, odd, lane preference etc. and feel like I learnt quite a bit (except I kept calling them horses!) I managed to not lose much and won quite a few races (not me personally, I couldn't run thyat fast), and I think we'd all definately go again. If you'd like to know more then visit www.sittingbournegreyhounds.co.uk
Ok they're coming to me now.....
Chris Isaak - Wicked Game
Here's another gem, and this time it's ......drum roll....
The Stone Temple Pilots - Pretty Penny
Aimee Mann - Wise Up
Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
Incubus – Mexico (Morning View - 2001)
A Perfect Circle – A Stranger (Thirteenth Step - 2003)
Johnny Cash - Hurt (American IV: The Man Comes Around - 2002)
What? Another post already?!
Well I've been surfing the web and found a site that may be helpful to those who drive in Thanet (where i live).
The site is www.thanetpetrol.co.uk and it lists the daily petrol prices from most of the major petrol stations in the area.
I'll add it to the links section on the right hand column and maybe I'll use this as an opportunity to remove some of the crap ones that I never use.
About 3/4 weeks ago I sprained my ankle (whilst pissed so no sympathy). Well now it's almost better after weeks of not being able to do much on and if I tried my ankle gave way and I looked like I'd been shot by a sniper.
Well I made my return to Sunday League Football and guess what? I get a new injury, Only a pul on my hamstring which happened after being on the field for 2 minutes! I'll give it a rest for the week and hopefully it'll be all good. Silly silly injuries, I seem to get more the older I get (24 years at present) god it's all downhill from now.
I've got a couple of tunes to add to the earlier post.
these are....
Aimee Mann - Wise Up
Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
these are added to....
Incubus – Mexico (Morning View - 2001)
A Perfect Circle – A Stranger (Thirteenth Step - 2003)
Johnny Cash - Hurt (American IV: The Man Comes Around - 2002)
For those of you with a Newsreader on your PC you can now add 'The Big Blog' to it. the address is ademblog.blogspot.com/atom.xml just like on the link to the right below the 'about me' section. P.S. the Newreader I'm using is Feedreader.
Do you ever hear a song and think that it fits in perfectly with your mood at that time? It's almost like having a film soundtrack to your life with certain songs reflecting your inner emotions.
Well I do, and every so often I'll hear a song and think "wow" that is so me.
I am going to try and make a list of songs for certain moods I have but I know I won't be able to justify the songs to you as they are specifically for me and not to be rated by others.
Most of the songs are slightly depressing as I think most of the songs in the world rely on the theme of love, be it gained, lost, or unrequited. Even a few of the songs are ones that I morbidly sometimes think I'd like people to hear at my funeral (or even hear myself at my own passing).
You can find the songs at SoundFlavor.com and use the search at the bottom right of the screen.
Well here we go for a start, these are 2 that automatically spring to mind and I'll add others later.
Songs to be depressed to...
Incubus – Mexico (Morning View - 2001)
A Perfect Circle – A Stranger (Thirteenth Step - 2003)
Johnny Cash - Hurt (American IV: The Man Comes Around - 2002)
I can't be bothered to write anything but wanted to show that I was still alive....have a look what I've bought:
It's a very big TV if you hadn't guessed (it's bigger in real life!)
Well I had fun in Prague. What a fantastic place, good beer, and extremely friendly women.
I went with soem friends from Ramsgate and traveled with Eujet for £26.80 return, and stayed in a hostel for £7.50 a night.....bonus!
Well there was a lot of culture, a lot of beer, and a lot of boobies! There were actually so many that I was boobieboggled and imagined I was seeing them everywhere!
Well thats enough of that but I'd recommend Prague to anyone. If you want to go with a partner and see the culture then you can do that and if you want to go with the lads and get pissed then it's just as easy to do that.
I brought some absinthe back and last monday 10th I went out and drank wine, lager, vodka, and absinthe. There are soem memories missing but I think the outstanding effort on my part was to get a cab from a local pub/club to somewhere further away from home and then walk back and twist my ankle and bugger the ligaments in it so that I have trouble walking and will not be able to run for a good few weeks!!! Brilliant.
that's all for now
peace out and word to your mother.
Well there you go. Au revoir 2004. Bonjour 2005.
It doesn't feel any different does it? Except we're one year closer to getting fucked. It's a scary world out there and things like this Tseunami shit that's going on can only cast doubt on the future. I can't even comprehend it.
How did we cope? We dranks ourselves silly at New year to forget. How lucky we are that we can do that. Why not do something good for a change and donate to the Disasters Emergency Committee which is an umbrella group of UK charities including, among others, British Red Cross, Cafod, Oxfam, Save the Children, Tearfund.
It's quite heart warming to see the amount that the public has donated (I even gave £10 myself, what's that really? 4 pints?) but I do wonder why we don't give more often. It shows we have the money but sometimes can't be bothered. Click here for an interesting article on how much we give to charity.
If anyone actually looks down the righthand side of this page you should see 3 album covers which usually depict what I'm usually listening to.
Magnolia is still on the car stereo....a classic.
The Killers - Hot Fuss is an excellent album and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes good music. They've been bigged-up a lot on Radio 1 and in the trendy media, and usually this means they'll be shit but they are infact very very good. There are no poor filler tracks on Hot Fuss.
Nine Inch Nails make a surprise entry too. I hadn't listened to any of this kind of 'industrial' music before but I was well aware of the name. This is a live album and is fantastic. Trent Reznor provides superb vocals with amazing emotions, hate, and disdain coming from him, and with a band to help out (Reznor usually playing everything himself in the studio) this CD truly rocks. After listening to this I listened to some studio albums but there wasn't the same feel and everything was a little too electronic and clean. I would recommend this to anyone who likes their music slightly more disturbing. Check out the lyrics to 'closer' my favourite song on the album.
Closer
You let me violate you, you let me desecrate you
You let me penetrate you, you let me complicate you
Help me I broke apart my insides, help me Iove got no
Soul to tell
Help me the only thing that works for me, help me get
Away from myself
I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god
You can have my isolation, you can have the hate that
It brings
You can have my absence of faith, you can have my
Everything
Help me tear down my reason, help me its your sex i
Can smell
Help me you make me perfect, help me become somebody
Else
I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god
Through every forest, above the trees
Within my stomach, scraped off my knees
I drink the honey inside your hive
You are the reason I stay alive
Hi there. It's been a while.
I've been a bit busy lately and have neglected the blog a bit. shame on me!
So what's been happening? I did go to Calais for my birthday. I had an excellent time. I went with 11 friends and we started drinking at 10am and I didn't finish till 1 am. It was fun. Also for my birthday I got a gift from my sister and mum of an adventure weekend. Basically it'll be going off to the Brecon Beacons and camping out and living off the land! Brilliant!
I've been playing a bit more football lately for Preston Hellings FC and have scored 3 times this season utilisng my extreme pace on the left wing! I've also been sorting out a website for the team which you will soon be able to find at www.prestonhellings.co.uk.
I've been working hard too and don't seem to have much free time but I'm happy that I'm doing stuff and not wasting my time.
Also I've been on 2 xmas do's already and I've still got 2 more lined-up! I can feel the waistband expanding evermore.
Farewell for now and hopefully It won't be too long till the next post.
Merry Xmas!
Well as the title suggests 'nothing new to say'. I've just been going through the motions. A few things have happened but they're not of the life-changing variety so no need top sit down and have a stiff drink.
I got the new Football Manager Game and have started playing as Cheltenham Town (not a very good team but it's better to learn the game this way instead of just taking charge of Arsenal. I was a bit naughty and downloaded the game as there was a fuck-up when ordering from Play.com. Don't worry, I have ordered an original game anyway because I love those people from SIgames, but even that hasn't come yet, so i'm happy I downloaded it but I'm doing my best against piracy.
I'm off to france for my Birthday. I thought I might as well get pissed in another country instead of at the local but I had a bit of panic as my passport had run out. I sent it off a week ago and it came back yesterday. Well chuffed. Something actually works!
That's all for now. Don't go enjoying yourself too much.
I often reflect on the consumer society we live in and where we want everything now, get everything now, and everything is sparkly. I like it that I can get everything in one place (usually TESCO), It saves me all that precious time in the day and it's usually cheap. But what did we do before these huge conglomerates? Did we all starve? No, we went to lots of different shops, each one specialising in something. But now it's all under one roof.
I try and go to these smaller shops, greengrocers and butchers alike, and I have to admit the quality and choice is far superior to that in these 'supermarkets' (what an egotistical way to label one's self), but then I have to get off my arse.....we are all very lazy.
There you go, not much of a post, but I just had to say something.
Laters
What a shock. John Peel died today whilst on holiday in Peru.I'm not usually one to get shocked by celebrity deaths (what a terrible reflection on peoples attitudes nowadays) but this one hit me.
I've got to say I wasn't an avid listener to his shows but I've got to give him great respect in that he did a lot for music in the UK. I can remember hearing some very 'different' music in his shows in an eclectic way that only he seemed to manage. He didn't have a 'Radio 1 playlist', something which has dragged the channel into mediocrity, with the listener not being able to distinguish one piece of pop drivel from another.
Not everything he played was to my taste but I did get to hear quite a few good tracks, usually white-labels, which I wouldn't have heard anywhere else. For this fact he deserves praise in that he went against the norm but didn't try to enforce his views on anyone. A good man indeed.

Fuck me!!! Check out this from the BBC site
"MPs claim an average of £118,000 each a year from the public purse to cover travel expenses, and to run their offices and second homes."
"They are paid a £57,000 salary and can claim twice as much again for expenses."
"Prime Minister Tony Blair ran up a total expenses bill of £80,836 over the same period, on top of his £178,922-a-year salary."
"The MP with the highest claim in the year to March 2004 was Falkirk MP Eric Joyce, who racked up expenses totalling £140,000."
MPs also get a pension of up to 1/40th of their final salary for each year they pay in - twice as much as many schemes.
I think I need to change my job. Anyway I hope you are all as shocked as I am. Check it out and see what your MP is claiming. Are they worth your vote? Bloody Liars.
An MP can retire on £28,742 a year after 20 years in the Commons. They also receive a pay-off of up to £57,485 if they are defeated at a general election.

Wow. I had a really vivid dream last night and it felt really real. I can't remember too much but the overriding thing was clocks, watches, and time. I shared this experience with the other people in the dream, and even though in the dream I thought I was dreaming I had woken up (in the dream) and spoken to the other people and they had had the same experience/dream in my dream in the dream....geddit? Well I'm sure there must be some kind of psychological reasoning behind this dream, something about fearing my own mortality or something like that, but anyway it was cool to have a dream to wake up and analyse. Oh there was also a dog there who experienced the dream in my dream...how to I know?....because he spoke to me!
I'm a fucking mentalist!!
Answers on a postcard please if you can answer my dream.
P.S. At the end I found a broken pocket watch in pieces. I picked it up and put it together. Hmmm I'm off to sleep to have a chat to Sigmund about that....and the dog!?
I've only just noticed but I'm getting mentally lazy. Have you seen how many pictures I've got on my blog? there's shitloads. Now if you have a quick peek at my profile, before I started this new entry I'd written 5,062 words....not that bad....but that was in 67 posts.....equalling an average of just over 75 words per post! I could get more insightful reading matter from the ingredients on the back of a Mars bar.
Also, another moan, when did ademblog get so fucking boring? It seems to just be "I did this, I did that" blah blah blah etc etc. I think (?) I had a few good posts in the early days but now it just seems to be my 'bragging bitch'. I need to start actually thinking about what I'm writing and maybe actually put some stuff on that people may actually want to read. It's all about opinions, thoughts, and having a transfer of ideas. That's what I've had to relearn from looking at other peoples blogs. We bloggers are exhibitionists and voyeurs, not in the sexual tabloid sense but we like to share what's going on in our minds and also compare ourselves with what other people actually think, and the blog is a refreshingly true place where people don't seem to mind that what they write about is ofter quite personal, they actually get somekind of therepy, not from talking to a psychiatrist but instead to their keyboard and monitor.
I can honestly say that it's doing me some good just typing away, not worrying and just letting my fingers do the talking.
The phrase of organising a piss-up in a brewery is commonly used in everyday life but who of us have actually done just that? Well I can stand-up, raise my hand and be counted.
Actually this is the second brewery trip I've been on, but my first to the Youngs Brewery in Wandsworth, the last one being to Shepherd Neame.
We left at 9:30 in the morn, and got back to Ramsgate about the 11 hours later, and slightly more pissed, so we proved that it was easy to get pissed in a brewery...very easy. The wonders of beer.....I was very happy.
Well after the events of last week you'd think I'd be taking a rest but no, along comes the Freshers' Ball in Canterbury with a 'Back to Skool' theme. I wasn't sure about going but then I thought of 500 odd lasses in school uniform and it swung it for me. Ben, Gay Tom, and petit Tom, came along too, but only for the experience, I'm sure they didn't think twice about the school girlies with there little skirts..... and pigtails......and.....sorry I got lost in a moment there.
The Headliners were Phats and Small, and Mousse T, all I can say is 'wow'.
So the fickle hand of me swipes some up-and-coming band from 'the big blog' playlist. The Thrills have dropped out and have been replaced by the Magnolia soundtrack from Aimee Mann. It's a brilliant film from 1999 and these songs are fantastic with some great lyrics. If you haven't seen the film then WATCH IT!
"Things fall down. People look up. And when it rains, it pours."
Take a look at the right-hand column just after archives and you can check out what I have been mostly listening to this week (a la fastshow), at the moment it's the Thrills, Prodigy, and also Roni Size. If you click on the pics it'll take you to the relevant page on Play.com where you can buy these albums if you haven't already got them. Please do not feel the need to buy them just so you can be popular like me and hang out with the cool kids. just be yourself and don't do drugs, it's the law!
Here's a quick link to remind you that as you're sat at your PC reading this, your life has just become a little shorter. Check out 'The Death Clock!'
Yep it's true, I've got two jobs now. If you didn't know I started working at my local pub 3 weeks ago, a nice place, and when I'm working there it means I'm not spending money there. It's a win-win situation.
Now back to the good news. Jonny spotted an advert in the gazette and thought it might tickle my fancy, Students' Union Campus Co-ordinator (Thanet). I emailed my application on the Thursday, got a phonecall on the Monday saying I'd got an interview, I went for an interview on the Friday and then they rang me back later in the afternoon saying the Job was mine!!!! Happy days.
I start on Monday and we'll see how it all goes from there. It'll be nice to get back into the Students' Union environment and if you wanna know what the job actually entails then read below.
SU Campus Co-ordinator
This newly created post is intended to develop and co-ordinate the activities of the Students’ Union at the Thanet Campus, in accordance with the decisions and leadership of the Campus Committee. The Campus Co-ordinator will work closely with Union staff based in Canterbury, and will be line-managed by the General Manager. The post holder will also work alongside CCCUC staff to expand the possibilities for student involvement in areas such as sports, societies and entertainment. The post holder will provide advice and support to the elected Campus Committee, as well as general administrative and clerical support. The post will be based at the Thanet campus although it is envisaged that some time will be spent at the Canterbury Campus.
Well actually it's Saturday morning, but I was out last night and it was dark. Me and the guys went out in Canterbury last night as it was Jon from footballs kind-of last going out night in Kent as he's moving to Dorset next week. The night started in 'spoons and ended up in a club that used to be Churchills. Memories of drinking jugs of Vodka Redbull Come back to me and also a £40 cab fare back home!
It was fun.
The web is full of rubbish. It's a fact. But every so often whilst trawling through the eternal tide of crap you find something very special. It's still crap but the name of this site is ' Crap Towns'.
Basically these two guys are trying to make a map of how crap the UK is. They do this with the help of emails sent in by people who think their towns are crap. The refreshing things about the postings are the pure hatred for their abodes, and the acid tongues they use, although most of the observations are true. Read on...

Town/Village: Bognor Regis submitted by Peter McCrum
Even the name is vaguely onomatopoeic and sounds somehow indecent. And indeed it is. What is it about these Victorian seaside towns that is so utterly vulgar and depressing? Is it the fact that they all look exactly the same, with their long-faded grandeur, endless fish and chip shops and gaudy amusement arcades desperate to tempt suckers inside with 'Niagara Falls' of 2p pieces, dementia inducing electronic cacophony and epileptic neon?
I suppose Bognor is just representative of all these generic seaside towns that drape themselves along our coastline, like over made-up knackered old tarts soliciting for trade. In the summer the place stinks of chip fat. In winter it's almost deserted and smells of death.
This is part of Britain's 'Skeleton Coast'. People from all over the British Isles retreat south in their twilight years towards the sea, in some bizarre reversal of evolution, to die. After Ford XRI's, the most common car seen about town is the hearse. Droops of grannies can be seen stopping to watch them pass, and with knowing nods they point and speculate who might be inside. The dual role of this town as both a holiday 'resort' and gods' waiting room always struck me as somehow inappropriate.
Kids in cheap sportswear perch like feral pigeons on the railings lining the prom, with their backs to the sea, spitting oysters of phlegm in front of the feet of passing pedestrians. Beneath greasy peaks of baseball caps, they suck on badly rolled joints and try to contort their acne-ravaged features into their interpretation of the hard bastard's thousand-yard stare. Their idea of high comedy is to take the piss out of passing groups of mentally handicapped children down from Croydon on a day trip.
Don't even bother looking for something to eat in Bognor that hasn't been battered and deep-fried. Don't go into the pubs - they're all shit, without exception. But most of all, don't go to the pier. Just don't. You will discover new levels of disappointment, higher levels of kitsch and more Neanderthal kids than you could poke an electric cattle prod at, (with the voltage turned all the way up to 'eleven'). Instead, turn your back to the sea and head north, to the South Downs and places like Arundel and Amberley, where you can get a proper pint and decent pub food beneath ancient castles and away from the festering putrid rot that is Bognor Regis.

It's so true. find your town here
As soon as the soles of my feet touch sand I regress to my chidhood self and out comes the bucket and spade...let the digging commence.
For this artistic number I dug a hole, buried myself, and got Steve and Abby to mould this lovely figure for me.
We've just had a great weekend. It was sunny for a change, and Ben and I took the opportunity to go fishing off Deal Pier on Friday. We caught quite a few fish but they were all wee nippers, although a few people caught some mackeral that were probably a few lbs each.
You should've seen the one that got away...it was a bit like the one below
I was in Selsey, Hampshire, with my Mum and Sister, when we spotted this great invention at the amusements near the pier. Apparently it makes you obese, ignorant of the rest of world, and make you whoop and cheer at every possible moment....I gave it a miss.
My friend Mark got married, and here he is setting of the fireworks at his reception.
It was a good night but we got a little silly and I may have put a cigar out on my hand!!!....ouch!!!...I'm well hard though. As I've always said "It's better to regret something you have done, than something you haven't done." I hold this true to many things except putting a cigar out on your hand....it's a little silly and there only seems to be one outcome...pain.
Here's an amusing photo taken at Joss bay, where a father is showing his young son what a ladies bits look like with the aid of a sand-vagina......don't fall in!
I downloaded my photos from my mobile and so I'm gonna set about writing up about the photos and what's happened in the last month.
I hate it when websites are outdated and never updated, and I myself have been guilty of this very thing. I'll try not to let it happen again but I make no promises.
Carry on reading above for some new stuff.
If anyone is actually reading this, then sorry for the delay in blogs. I could give you some lamo excuse as to why....and I have got some......"my dog ate my computer"....anyone falling for it. thought not.
What have I been upto? I've been on a football tour. Got a new part-time jobby. Went on a little holiday. hmmmmm. Got drunk a few times. and did some other things.
So not a very interesting entry at this time but at least it's something.
If I've got time I'll write something very witty later on tonight.
see ya
